This policy applies to information we collect when you visit the Site or submit an application to operate under Sonic Transport's authority. By using the Site or submitting an application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
This policy does not apply to information collected through other means, such as information provided directly in person or via phone. For questions about data handling not addressed here, contact us at go@drivewithsonic.com.

- Any other information you voluntarily include in your application
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view. This information is described further in Section 8 (Cookies & Analytics).
3. How We Use Your Information
Information submitted through the driver application form is used solely for the purpose of evaluating your application and, if applicable, onboarding you as an owner-operator. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Review and process your application for an owner-operator lease arrangement
- Verify your commercial driver's license and credentials
- Contact you regarding your application status or to request additional information
- Conduct background checks, motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, and employment verifications as required by federal regulations

- Maintain required records if you are engaged as an owner-operator
We do not use your application information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to evaluating and managing your operator relationship with Sonic Transport.
4. Information We Share
We do not share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. We do share information in the following limited, legally required circumstances:
- Consumer reporting agencies. We may obtain background checks and motor vehicle records (MVRs) through consumer reporting agencies. This process is governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You will receive required FCRA disclosures and authorizations before any such report is requested.
- FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. We are required to query and report to the FMCSA Commercial Driver's License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse per 49 CFR § 382.701. Your written consent is obtained prior to a full query.
- Previous employers. Federal regulations under 49 CFR § 391.23 require us to contact your previous motor carrier employers to obtain safety performance history. This contact is made only with your authorization, which you provide as part of the application process.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety or rights of any person.
All third-party disclosures described above are made only to the extent required or permitted by applicable law, and only in connection with a bona fide application or active operator relationship.
5. We Do Not Sell Your Information
Sonic Transport Inc. does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial or marketing purposes. Full stop.
We have no advertising relationships, data broker arrangements, or affiliate programs that involve sharing applicant or visitor data.
6. Data Retention
Application records — including all documents and information submitted in connection with a driver qualification file — are retained for a minimum of one year from the date of application, in accordance with FMCSA record-keeping requirements under 49 CFR § 391.51.
If you are engaged as an owner-operator, your driver qualification file is retained for the duration of your engagement and for three years following the end of your relationship with Sonic Transport, consistent with federal regulations.
If your application is not accepted, records may be retained for a reasonable period to document our qualification process and comply with applicable laws. When records are no longer required, we dispose of them in a manner designed to protect confidentiality.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections to inaccurate information, or to request deletion of information we are not legally required to retain.
To submit any such request, contact us by email at go@drivewithsonic.com. Please include your full name and sufficient detail to identify your record. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
If you believe a consumer report has been used in a decision affecting your application, you have rights under the FCRA, including the right to know the name of the consumer reporting agency and to obtain a copy of your report. We will provide required FCRA notices at the appropriate time in the application process.
